SATELLITE NOC MANAGER

JOB DESCRIPTION

Lepton is seeking a proactive, creative professional who enjoys a fast-paced, independent, small-business work environment to manage Lepton’s NOC Technicians and 24x7x365 Network Operations. Candidates must have a management and IT background and quick learning skills. Customer-service oriented communication skills, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both individually and collaboratively in a team environment are required. This individual will be involved in all elements related to Lepton satellite networks, engineering, and support, and may include travel to teleport and customer sites both CONUS and OCONUS.PLEASE NOTE: SECRET/TOP SECRET Clearance Required

REQUIREMENTS

  • Responsible for managing 24x7x365 Network Operations Center;
  • Responsible for all technical support operations, monitoring tools, and helpdesk management;
  • Provide Tier 2 support to NOC personnel for monitoring and troubleshooting customer networks;
  • Support iDirect network planning and implementation for optimal remote performance;
  • Support network modifications and upgrades;
  • Liaise with Network Engineering, ground uplink stations, and various satellite providers;
  • Develop and maintain Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions for NOC Technicians;
  • Train NOC Technicians on monitoring tools;
  • Leverage existing tools to create new capabilities;
  • Support business development and proposal activity with RF calculations;
  • Work with teleports and operators to maintain and grow satellite networks;
  • Manage NOC Technicians;
Other related duties as may be assigned, particularly in support of Operations Department.

TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5 years experience with iDirect satellite networking platform strongly preferred;
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience of iDirect technology, servers, protocol processors, line cards, modems, Infinity and Evolution IOS strongly preferred;
  • Cisco Certifications helpful (CCENT, CCNA);
  • Must have a flexible schedule to provide technical support help;
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines for special projects;
  • Ability to think clearly and problem solve in a high-stress environment;
  • Excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to explain complex subject matter in simple but accurate terms;
  • Must be proactive, a team player, and possess a can-do attitude;
  • Must be able to travel internationally and have current Passport.
